Inviato November 20, 2009 We're done with ZipGenius 6.2 and we are going to compile the setup files and to upload them. Here is list a detailed list of what is changed. Many "access violation" errors have been fixed. Windows 7 compatibility increased (but still not 100% complete - we are working on it). New default toolbar skin when ZipGenius runs under Windows 7. New default sidebar/home skin when running under Windows 7. New default theme under Windows 7. Sightly redone the zgres.dll that contains the icons for the file types associated to ZipGenius (we removed the non-32bit formats... Panta rei and Windows 95/98/ME are officially dead). New "search for update" feature: 5 minutes after launching ZipGenius, it will go on the Internet to search for a newer build. If available, a desktop alert will inform you. You can still manually search for updates, too. New language packs management panel: only compatible language packs are shown, so you can't download an older language for your newer ZipGenius. Maybe you want to contribute with a translation? Go to http://www.zipgenius.com and check it out... Better check for missing settings in the Windows registry: if a setting is not available under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then ZipGenius will lookup in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE the default setting. Better check for registry settings when running in "portable mode" (e.g. from a USB pendrive). Better routine to load the toolbar skin. Better file types association procedure (ready for Windows Vista and 7). Better Windows 7 operating system detection. ZipGenius now doesn't need to run in compatibility mode under Windows 7 at all. Setup program installs new links to WinInizio website and forum, PayPal donation page and Online Help. Setup now correctly set the "IsExpert" registry value to make ZipGenius running in expert mode from the beginning. Minor bugfixes under the hood.
