[note] Zipgenius 6.3 Is The Next Stop.

Now that ZG 6.2.0.2015 is quickly spreading all over the web, we could stop for a while and discuss a bit.

1) Build 2015 should be the last one for 6.2 series.

That is quickly explained:

• 6.2.0.xxxx -> Borland Developer Studio 2006 in Windows XP Pro. SP2, no native UNICODE support
  
• 6.3.0.xxxx -> Embarcadero Delphi 2010 in Windows 7 Ultimate x86, FULL UNICODE support
  

Beside Unicode support, there are a lot of reasons to move away from previous development platform. One of these is less code and more reusing of routines, which is translated into better, faster and lighter ZipGenius sessions.

You will get a small change into interface but it won't be a truly new interface, just because we are still going on with ZG 6 series. The new interface will come out to light only with ZG 7 - and it won't be far from now.

We are still discussing wheter to import the "Explorer view" we made for ZipGenius 7, where archives appear with the usual treeview on the left and files and folders on the right, exactly as it would happen in Windows Explorer. We have the code, we have the components, we are sure it is working fine, but we are discussing if ZG 6.3 should have this view mode as an optional, by default or nothing at all.

I am amazed how much people uses and is satisfied with ZipGenius. Thanks very much! You are a huge crowd and you are the really engine of this project that dates back into 1997. The best way to thank you is to give a better product week after week and this explains why we release so many updates.

Also, thank you for your donations through PayPal: we just upgraded the main development machine with 4 GB of Kingston RAM (2x2GB PC6400 @ 800 MHz). And we are using it with Windows 7 32bit. Really: we are working on 32bit with this amount of memory. We used an hack, obviously, but it will allow us to have 2GB for Win7 32 bit as host machine and 2 GB for Win7 64bit ina a virtual machine (the dev machine has an Athlon 64 X2 CPU with hardware virtualization enabled).
